Dates and Driver Classifications for the 2024 TDC Club Championhip;
2024 Club Championship qualifying rounds;
21st January Dave Griffin Memorial Multi Venue Autotest
24th March Club Autotest*
13th April Charlesland Cup Retrospective Trial
12th May Production Car Trial
7th June James Pringle Autotest*
30th June Club Autotest*
24th July Julian Vard Production Car Trial
25th August Multi Venue Autotest
28th September Millard Cup Sporting Trial
13th October Club Autotest*
17th November Howard Wilde Memorial Autotest*
27th December Safari Cup Multi Venue Autotest
*Autotest Championship round
Beginners:
Drivers who competed in their first ever autotest after 1st January 2022 and have not previously won the Overall Beginners Championship
Novices:
Graduates from the Beginner class
People with very limited competition experience as decided by the committee
Maximum of 3 years competing as a Novice permitted (excluding 2020)
Winning the Overall Novice Championship automatically promotes you to the Intermediate Class, the following year
Intermediates:
Graduates from the Novice class
People who have appeared in the Novice class of the TDC Club championship table in 3 or more of the last 5 years (excluding 2020)
No limit to the length of time you might compete in this class
1st & 2nd finishers in the Overall 2024 Intermediate Championship will be automatically promoted to the Expert Class, the following year
Other competitors at the organisers’ discretion
Experts:
Competitors who have appeared in the Expert class of the TDC Club championship table in previous years
Competitors who are, or have been classed as Experts or Semi-Experts in the Hewison, Northern Ireland Autotest Championship or other Autotest Championship
Previous winners or runners up of the Overall Intermediate Championship
Other competitors at the organisers’ discretion
Best 9 results to count out of 12 events held
Best 8 results to count out of 10 or 11 events held
Best 7 results to count out of 8 or 9 events held
Best 6 results to count out of 7 or less events held
Best 4 results in Autotest Championship to count out of 5 events held
Best 3 results in Autotest Championship to count out of 4 or less events held
It is not permissible to win the Premier Award in the Beginners’ Autotest Championship more than once.
Only Club Members can qualify for Championship Awards
Points for each event will be awarded, for each of the drivers’ categories based on the positions in the overall results, as follows:
20 Points for the Winner, 19 Points for 2nd, 18 Points for 3rd, 17 Points for 4th, etc down to 1 Point for 20th place.
Navigators taking part in the April Retrospective Trial will be awarded points equal to the number of points awarded to the driver, not withstanding that the navigator may be listed in a different class in the championship.
Competitors will be awarded bonus points for up to two events they elect to officiate at, as follows;
10 Class Points will be awarded, for up to two events where a competitor is signed on as an official
5 Overall Points will be awarded, for up to two events where a competitor is signed on as an official
If a competitor drives and officiates at the same event, their competing score will count for points. They will not be also awarded points for officiating.
Any points awarded for officiating at an event can count as one of your best 8 counting scores (assuming 10 or 11 championship rounds), not in addition.
Ties for the final championship positions will be decided on the following basis i) In favour of the competitor with the highest overall number of points, including dropped scores ii) In favour of the competitor who finished highest in the earliest event of the year.
Production Car Trials;
Cars with Limited Slip Diffentials will be penalised by 1.5 marks per section, on top of their actual score, to a maximum of 10 per section. Drivers of these cars can score for the Club Championship in these rounds.
